Standing Ringside with Families Since 2016
Our Story
Gold In Fight was born from the shared experience of those who have walked the hardest road. In September 2016, a group of retired military volunteers who had been personally devastated by pediatric cancer came together with a single purpose: ensure that no family faces this fight alone.
Our founders knew firsthand the overwhelming challenges families face when a child is diagnosed with cancer. They had seen the fear in parents' eyes as medical bills piled up, watched families struggle to keep their homes while spending every moment at the hospital, and felt the profound isolation that comes with this devastating disease. They understood that behind every diagnosis is a family in crisis.
We started with a commitment to transparency, discipline, and authentic compassion. Our military background taught us the importance of mission focus, accountability, and never leaving anyone behind. We brought those values to Gold In Fight, creating a nonprofit where 100% of proceeds are used to serve families and raise awareness. Ten years later, we've expanded from serving families in Maryland to supporting families nationwide, but our mission remains unchanged: be ringside with every family, every round of this fight.
Get In The Ring. Fight for Families. K.O. Childhood Cancer.
Our Mission
To serve families who have children or have lost children to pediatric cancer.
Our Vision
A world where no family facing pediatric cancer fights alone, and where every child receives the care, support, and hope they deserve during their battle and beyond.

Our Core Values
Transparency
Complete accountability and openness in all operations. 100% of proceeds are used to serve families. No salaries, no hidden costs. Pure mission-driven impact.
Unwavering Commitment
Steadfast dedication fueled by lived experience. Our volunteer leadership, many retired military, brings discipline, resilience, and personal understanding to every action we take.
Holistic Support
Recognition that families need more than money. We provide emotional support, community connection, and practical relief to address the complete weight of pediatric cancer.
Sacrifice & Service
Embodied in our all-volunteer model. We give freely because we understand that real impact requires real commitment, not personal gain.
Hope & Resilience
We stand alongside families in their darkest moments, affirming their strength and lighting the path toward healing, recovery, and renewed purpose.
How We Help
Pediatric cancer affects every aspect of a family's life. Our comprehensive approach addresses the financial, emotional, and practical challenges families face during treatment and beyond.
Emergency Financial Grant
When a child is diagnosed with cancer, families face immediate financial crisis. Parents leave work, medical bills pile up, and basic needs become impossible to manage. Our emergency financial assistance program provides direct grants to families who need help right now. We cover urgent expenses: housing costs, utility bills, gas for hospital trips, and meals. Applications are reviewed quickly because we know families don't have time to wait.
Gold Fight Family Support Group
The isolation that comes with pediatric cancer can be as devastating as the disease itself. Friends and family often don't know what to say, and parents feel utterly alone in their fear. Our Gold Fight Family program creates a private community where families connect with others who truly understand. Members share resources, offer emotional support, celebrate victories, and provide comfort during the hardest moments. Community in its purest form.
Ongoing Emotional Support
Our volunteer team maintains contact with families throughout their journey. We check in regularly, help navigate resources, connect families with additional support services, and simply listen when someone needs to talk. Many of our volunteers have personal experience with pediatric cancer — they know what it feels like to be in the ring. That authentic understanding makes all the difference when families need someone who truly gets it.
Raising Awareness and Advocacy
Through our events, partnerships, and community presence, we raise awareness about the realities of pediatric cancer. We advocate for families' needs, share their stories with permission, and work to ensure pediatric cancer receives the attention it deserves. Our advocacy extends to policy conversations, media engagement, and public education — because the more people understand this disease, the more support families receive when they need it most.
Our Impact and Reach
Since September 2016, Gold In Fight has grown from serving families in Maryland to supporting families nationwide. In January 2026, we expanded our service area to reach families across the United States, ensuring that geography never determines whether a family receives help.
Our growth reflects the urgent need for this work and the generosity of donors who believe no family should fight alone. Every family we serve, every Gold Fighter we support, and every Gold Angel we honor reminds us why this mission matters.

Why We're Different
Military Leadership and Lived Experience
Gold In Fight is led by retired military volunteers who have been personally affected by pediatric cancer. We're not professional fundraisers or career nonprofit administrators. We're parents, grandparents, and family members who've been in the ring ourselves. Our military background brings discipline, accountability, and mission focus. Our personal experience brings empathy, understanding, and authentic compassion. This combination makes us uniquely equipped to serve families facing this fight.
We are entirely volunteer-run. Not a single person on our team takes a salary. 100% of every dollar contributed to Gold In Fight is used to serve families and raise awareness about pediatric cancer. When you give to us, you can trust that your money goes exactly where you intend: directly to supporting families in crisis. This transparency isn't just a policy. It's a core value that guides every decision we make.
100% to Families, Zero Salaries
Holistic, Family-Centered Approach
We don't just write checks. We build relationships. We understand that families need more than money to get through this fight. They need emotional support, community connection, and the knowledge that someone understands what they're experiencing. Our holistic approach addresses the complete weight of pediatric cancer: financial, emotional, practical, and spiritual. We meet families where they are and walk alongside them every step of the way.
